As seen on Black Enterprise
I’m honored to share that I was featured on Black Enterprise in an episode of BE Health Is Wealth.
The episode, “How A Busy Entrepreneur Keeps Fitness On The Agenda,” looks at how I keep strength training, running, and high-protein nutrition on my calendar while running a business, teaching digital literacy, and raising my children.

Watch on Black EnterpriseWhat Is a “Goal Model”?
One reason this conversation stood out to me is the idea behind the series. Fitness influencers can be impressive, but their results often feel out of reach for people who do not make a living showcasing their physiques online.
BE Health Is Wealth takes a different approach. Each episode features someone who is not a fitness professional but has built healthy habits into a demanding life as an entrepreneur, executive, or working professional. Black Enterprise calls these guests “Goal Models.”
I love that framing. Most of us are not looking for a perfect routine. We are looking for proof that a realistic one is possible.
What We Talked About
In the episode, I share how three habits stay on my agenda as an entrepreneur, digital media educator, and mother:
- Strength training
- Running
- High-protein nutrition

Why Health Habits and Digital Habits Go Together
My day job is helping students and families build a healthier relationship with technology, so this feature connected to my work in a way I appreciate.
Healthy habits, whether physical or digital, rarely happen by accident. They come from making deliberate choices about where your time and attention go. That belief shapes my Smart With Screens podcast, where I talk openly about parenting, phones, and the pressure to get everything right. If you want a candid take on that, listen to Episode 6: When the Expert Feels Lost Too.
It is also why my family workshops focus on realistic strategies instead of perfection. Parents are already doing a lot. Practical, judgment-free guidance is far more useful than another list of rules.
A Shoutout to Actively Black
Every episode of BE Health Is Wealth also highlights a Black-owned fitness business. This episode features fitness apparel company Actively Black. Supporting Black-owned businesses matters to me as a business owner, and I appreciate that the series makes space for that in every episode.
Thank You, Black Enterprise
Thank you to the Black Enterprise team and the BE Health Is Wealth series for inviting me to share my story. It means a great deal to be included among the “Goal Models” showing that healthy habits and demanding careers can coexist.
