Recognizing Misinformation
Spotting manipulated, misleading, or false content online.

From Digital Consumers to Digital Creators
Young people already live in a digital ecosystem. BAM’s programs give them opportunities to examine how that ecosystem works — and develop the skills to participate in it more intentionally.
- Algorithms, from both sides. Students learn how algorithms influence discovery while also learning how creators reach real audiences.
- Digital footprints, in practice. Students discuss what stays online while learning how to build a responsible presence of their own.
- Media literacy, by making media. Students study how content is produced by producing content themselves.
Flexible Programs Built for After-School Schedules
Every format builds toward real skill development — the difference is depth, project scope, and time.
Short Enrichment
A focused introduction to a specific skill or topic — good for organizations testing a new program or working within a limited schedule.
Full Program
A more substantial learning experience combining instruction, activities, discussion, and hands-on projects.
Deep-Dive Program
Enough time for students to develop real skills and work toward a larger project or portfolio.
Programs Can Be Customized for Your Students
A middle-school community center needs something different from a high-school career-readiness program. BAM programs can be shaped around your organization, not the other way around.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ages are your after-school digital literacy programs for?
BAM programs serve grades 3–12. Content, pacing, and topic complexity are adjusted for elementary (3–5), middle school (6–8), and high school (9–12) students.
How long are the programs?
BAM offers 4-, 8-, and 12-week formats. The 4-week format is a short enrichment experience, the 8-week format is the most popular, and the 12-week format is the flagship deep-dive option.
How many students can participate?
Standard workshop delivery works with groups of up to 30 students. Smaller groups of 10–20 are recommended for production-focused programs like podcasting and digital creator.
Can we choose which digital literacy topics students learn?
Yes. Topics can be shaped around your organization’s priorities — online safety, social media, misinformation, AI, digital wellness, and more.
Do you offer programs for middle school students?
Yes. Programs for grades 6–8 focus on social media, digital footprints, cyberbullying, and the decisions students are actually facing at that age.
Do you offer programs for high school students?
Yes. Programs for grades 9–12 go deeper into media production, AI literacy, digital career pathways, and more independent project work.
Can students learn podcasting or content creation?
Yes. The Podcasting & Media Production and Digital Creator programs both give students hands-on experience producing real, publishable content.
Do you provide AI literacy programs?
Yes. BAM’s AI Literacy program covers prompting, bias, AI detection, ethics, and responsible use — built for students, not just educators.
What technology does our organization need?
Most programs run on school- or program-issued phones, laptops, or tablets and free tools. No special equipment is required — we’ll confirm your organization’s specific setup before the program begins.
Do you provide programs outside of school hours?
Yes. Programs are built around after-school, evening, and weekend schedules, not squeezed into the traditional school day.
Do you work with community centers and nonprofits?
Yes. BAM partners with after-school programs, community centers, libraries, nonprofits, and youth development organizations across NYC and the surrounding areas.
